Volvo Model Research: New York City
Shopping for a Volvo from a Manhattan address raises questions a generic model page never answers: which SUV actually clears the ramp in your building’s garage, what the city’s flat 8.875% sales tax does to an optioned build, and how a car holds up to a winter of salted avenues and 11th Avenue potholes. The guides below were written for New York City drivers, trim by trim, with the service and pricing realities of a five-borough commute included rather than glossed over. Everything here is based on the lineup on the floor at Volvo Cars Manhattan, 565 11th Avenue.
2026 Volvo XC40
Volvo’s compact SUV, and the one most likely to fit the tightest spot in a Midtown garage. Three trims, two mild-hybrid powertrains, and a front-drive B4 option that makes sense if your driving rarely leaves the island.

2026 Volvo XC60

2026 Volvo EX40
Volvo’s smallest fully electric SUV, in Plus and Ultra trims. Single Motor Extended Range is rear-wheel drive, 248 horsepower, and EPA-rated up to 296 miles; Twin Motor adds all-wheel drive, 402 horsepower and a 4.6-second 0-60, with range up to 260 miles. It charges on the NACS plug, so the Tesla Supercharger network is available alongside public CCS stations — the practical answer to charging without a private garage.

2027 Volvo EX60
The 2027 Volvo EX60 is Volvo's all-new, fully electric midsize SUV — same footprint as the XC60, zero gasoline anywhere in the car. It comes in two trims, Plus (from $58,400 MSRP) and Ultra (from $65,000), each buildable with the rear-drive P6 motor or the dual-motor all-wheel-drive P10, before the $1,395 destination charge. P6 is Volvo's own EPA-estimated 307 miles of range; P10 AWD stretches that to 330.
