About South Beach, NY

South Beach is an East Shore neighborhood in Staten Island. It has an eponymous beach and a boardwalk located at its southeastern coast. East of the beach are the small islands of Hoffman and Swinburne.

The place was a summer beach colony that has a lot of bungalows and tents. There were also amusement parks and arcades in the area including the Happyland Amusement Park.  The Beachland Amusements was the last of the amusement park that remained and it was closed in 2006.
