Pleasant Plains is a South Shore neighborhood in Staten Island. The community sprouted around the train station at Penton Street and Amboy Road. The Staten Island Railroad Company named the station as Pleasant Plains.

In 1888, the St. Elizabeth's Building was constructed in Pleasant Plains. It was used as an orphanage for girls before it was abandoned many years later. The six-story building was totally destroyed by a fire in 2000.
