About Midland Beach, NY

Midtown Beach is a neighborhood at the east-central coast of Staten Island. It goes by the name Woodland Beach before the locals started to call it as Mid-Island Staten Island. It is a popular beach resort back then and in 1896, residents and tourists flock in the area for its amusement attractions.

Its proximity to the coast caused a lot of water and wind damage to the homes in Midland Beach. It was for this reason that the City of New York took the initiative to install a large storm sewer system in 1979.
