The T5 and the front-wheel drive models are among the things eliminated by the maker in the 2020 Volvo S90. While these has been discontinued, there are still a lot of things car buyers in Manhattan can expect with this luxury midsize car.

As for the 2019 Lincoln Continental, there are many changes to look forward to. The most notable upgrades are the list of standard safety features, which now includes those that were optional in the past.

Design & Style

The 2020 Volvo S90 easily impresses on the outside. Inside the cabin, there are plenty of elements that highlight its design and style even more. It combines comfort and luxury in its cabin, with its power-adjustable front seats making adjustments easier for one's seating position. Expect a lot of headroom and legroom on both rows of its plush and cozy cabin setup. It has a striking minimalist cabin design which combines premium materials, including brushed metal, leather, wood, and soft-touch plastics.

Seating up to five people, 2019 Lincoln Continental is made even more relaxing by its 10-way power-adjustable front seats. The second row also offers plenty of legroom, much to the delight of taller passengers. Headroom has been compromised a bit though. Metal and wood trim accents highlight the cabin with soft-touch plastic to be impressed about.

Technology & Safety

The 2020 Volvo S90 carries the Sensus infotainment system with a nine-inch touchscreen. Its long list of technologies include a 10-speaker audio, a USB port, Bluetooth interface, satellite radio, HD radio, and a navigation system. Safety wise, it has a rearview camera, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, forward and rear collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist. All of these are standard at all trim levels.

The 2019 Continental is equipped with the standard SYNC 3 infotainment system. It also has a 10-speaker audio, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This has an easy-to-use interface too. Safety-wise, it has automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert - a very thin set of driver aids that does not meet what the S90 can offer.

Performance

The 2020 S90 has two powertrains namely the T6 and the T8. The T6 is its base-engine. This combines turbocharging and supercharging capacities in its four-cylinder engine to generate 316 horsepower. The T8 version, on the other hand pairs its base engine with a lithium-ion battery pack as well as an electric motor to reach a maximum of 400 horsepower. In the case of the Lincoln Continental, there is a V6 engine that can yield only up to 305 horsepower, which is lower than the V6 version of the S90.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 S90 does not limit your options to its already impeccable design. It has powertrains that are both remarkable, plus is fitted with reliable technology and safety features to experience. This makes it a better car over the Lincoln Continental.
